I was asked not to long ago to provide six resources that I enjoy, and utilize to keep update on the web and all things web related. Those categories include, but aren't limited too: coding, design, social media, SEO, SMO and things that are trending on the web. The following are my recommendations I made, and all of these came from my "Work" tag on Google Reader, some 129ish feeds.

Smashing Magazine - Feed

Founded in September 2006, Smashing Magazine delivers useful and innovative information to Web designers and developers. Our aim is to inform our readers about the latest trends and techniques in Web development.

Mashable Feed

Founded in July 2005, Mashable is the world’s largest blog focused exclusively on Web 2.0 and Social Media news. With more than 15 million monthly pageviews, Mashable is the most prolific blog reviewing new Web sites and services, publishing breaking news on what’s new on the web and offering social media resources and guides.

Sitepoint Feed

SitePoint is a fast growing online media company and information provider targeting the Web professional market, specifically Web Developers and Designers.

Matt Cutts - Feed

I’m one of several Googlers who answer questions online and sometimes for the press. I usually handle questions about webmasters or SEO, so in those areas I’m more likely to make sense and less likely to say something stupid. If I post something here that you find helpful as you build or manage your web presence, that’s wonderful. But when push comes to shove: This is my personal blog. The views expressed on these pages are mine alone and not those of my employer.

WebProNews - Feed

WebProNews is your comprehensive resource for news, information, and tips related to online business. We cover the latest developments in search engines, search engine optimization (SEO), search engine marketing (SEM), social media marketing, advertising, and online branding.

Codrops - Feed

Hopefully this site will offer you a useful collection of code snippets from all over. We are especially interested in Web Development and everything that comes with it – design, programming and usability.
